Here's a bit of this and that...

I took a quick trip to the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs with my friend Kristi earlier this month. We rode fun beach cruisers to get our nails done. Ooh la la!

My ultimate relaxation? Working on my collage book by the pool...

A trip to LAX isn't complete without stopping at Randy's Donuts. And seeing a Space Invader icon up there is pretty cool, too!

Love you, Kristi! She lived the California dream for a few weeks with me. She's back in Richmond, VA making people smile with her lovely flower arrangements at Flower Girls.

And...then my friend Lisa stopped by the boutique. She was doing a trend spotting trip with her company, La Senza. It was so nice to see her!

I was out thrifting the other day and laughed at this tag. Oh so 80's, oh so cool!

Aren't these party mugs fun? They have a list of all of the essential ingredients for a good time. Very 1976, I'm thinking.

my (our way)

I'm getting married in a couple of months. Thank goodness I'm old enough to be able to get married my (our!) way. Yay. Our goofy invite for our east coast event has funny photos of me and Dave. On a color copy with all of the details. We're not even sure when we're getting married. It may be a quick trip to Vegas or downtown LA to tie the knot officially before we toast our friends and family if we can't work out the details of how to get my brother to be an officiant for the day. These are the photos that we incorporated into the invite. Thanks to the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs for their fun photo booth in the lobby. Which reminds me, it's time for another trip there soon!

wheeeeee!

I'm still feeling like I'm on vacation. Just a few days away with my honey made the start of summer feel so much better. It's amazing with a bit of sun, a few days of relaxing, and timer shots to make yourself laugh will do. We stayed at the Ace in Palm Springs last weekend (my 3rd time). Always fun. Dave is a fan, and so is our boxer, Angie Mae.

I spent the rest of my very short week working at FIDM, figuring out garment dye fabric for my collection, vintage shopping, picking up new designs from my contractor (more stripes!!!), and finally seeing Sex and the City 2.

Happy weekend!

The boutique is open this weekend as usual. The feel of summer is in the air in Venice and lots of customers were telling me that that boardwalk was rockin. But I kindof like the zen vibe at the boutique and met some cool new customers today.

I'm taking a blog break for a few days to chill with my honey (shown above) at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs. Never fear, I'll blog next week with images from the boutique's recent Sex and the City soiree and images of our weekend.

In the meantime, I'm gathering together a pile of magazines, my collage book, sunscreen, and my hat to do a whole lot of nothing for a few days.
