Stand back!

I got a bit silly on Saturday at the boutique in the Stephanie dress. It's on sale for $69 and we're moving out the sale goodies to make room for spring. The dress is named after my friend, Stephanie, who owns the Golden State store on Ocean Park Boulevard in Santa Monica. The dress also wants me to sing one of my favorite songs by Stevie Nicks. What a boho goddess she was!
And, on another note....Today was busy...I checked out new samples (hello cold shoulder dresses!), worked with sample makers on the technicalities of garment dye and cotton for styles in the works. Happy Monday! XO, M.E.

Alana Sweetwater at ME & Blue... Thursday, 12/17 6 PM...

Alana Sweetwater, along with her fellow musicians Dylan Cooper (l) and Marlon Grace (r) stopped by the boutique today.

We're organizing where they will be playing for the ME & Blue Holiday Open House next Thursday, 12/17 before heading over to Angel's in nearby Santa Monica later that evening. They were so cool I can't wait to hear them all playing live. They'll be stopping traffic for sure. For a complete list of their gigs and to sample her music, click onto their MYSPACE page. XO, M.E.

post retail therapy...

I'm recovering from our fab event last night.   I'm so happy with the amazing customers who love the store. What savvy, inspirational women!   I'll be posting fun photos soon.  In the meantime, Danielle is at the boutique and my post-retail therapy is a manicure and pedicure from Main Attraction in Santa Monica.  I got this groovy OPI nail polish at the FIDM Scholarship Store for $1 the other day.  Now I'm home and hanging with Angie Mae under my cabana, watching Netflix, and a hoping to take a nice nap.
I can finally watch "Long Way Down" with Ewan McGregor.
I love documentaries, and this one promises to be a ton of fun...
Yay.  XO, M.E.

Lucy's Bday. Fashionable and four.

I made a quick stop this morning at Lucy's 4th Birthday party.  Her mom is Annie who owns Pebbles kid's boutique in Santa Monica. I worked there part-time last year and am still friends with her.  Annie always makes things fun!

Snow White from Silly Sally's even showed up and made a crown of balloons for the birthday girl and her guests.

It reminds me of my birthday when my mom hired the clowns and the go carts.  But that's another post.  And it will probably have to wait until my birthday at the end of the year!

looking for new locations in LA

My quest to reinvent ME & Blue has brought me checking out a few locations...all seem to feel best on the west side of LA...it must be the ocean breezes and pretty sunsets that make me want to stay on this side of town.

One option is to be next to my new favorite plant store, Big Red Sun. On Rose Avenue, this fun strip in Venice reminds me of the best of NYC living...a mix of down and out people, to those living in million dollar condos and bungalows.

Stay tuned to find out where I sign a lease. My pioneering spirit keeps me away from super gentrified neighborhoods and gravitating towards more funky & bohemian spots of LA that nurture the creative spirit. Stay tuned!

Gee, I love your dress!

The ME & Blue "Goddess" long dress is the new LA variation of the style that we carried in the Philly boutique...a bit longer, sexier (of course!) and flattering in all the right places. Pair this fun dress with metallic sandals and get the same car-stopping compliments I got when I wore mine recently..."Gee, I love your dress!" Stay tuned for details on the new ME & Blue boutique in LA...we're still scouting out locations and ready to ink a lease. Recessionistas, get ready to shop!

reinventing ME and Blue

Hello!
I'm in the process of re-inventing the ME & Blue brand from a loft space in Philadelphia to a breezy storefront in L.A. From revamping our signature a-line skirt designs, to scouting out fun vintage finds that coordinate easily into the next boutique. I have a couple of space options that I am looking at here in L.A. that will reflect the fun style of ME & Blue. Easy, breezy, affordable, fun, and excited to kick this recession back to a place that people forget about it. Stay tuned...
